Tschüß, y'all!

Oma and Anna leave for home tomorrow, after a 2 1/2 week stay in Texas.

Anna lives on a rural farm in Germany, but had no problem transitioning to our life in the suburbs with our fake cows and malls and restaurants as far as the eye can see. We will miss her!

It's raining, it's not pouring, but we are having fun

The boys tried to turn the kick board into a surf board.

The McKinney weekly paper was turned into mini surf boards, too.

Gutter bath.
By now you're probably questioning my parenting skills.

Tea for Five

On June 19th, all the big girls went out to tea: Grandpa's treat. Go Grandpa!
It was another thing that Anna had never done. Katharine is now a pro, as she gets to go out for tea whenever Grandma visits. It is always a special event. The day before I managed to snatch up cute dresses at Hanna Andersson that were on sale for a very, very good price. And hats, too.

There is always plenty of food and we usually end up taking home a couple of sandwiches, scones and dessert bars. The girls had a flower sandwich with their choice of ham, turkey, cheese, peanut butter and jelly or just jelly, fruit skewers and heart shaped mini muffins, as well as their choice of tea or pink lemonade and vanilla-strawberry ice-cream with sprinkles for dessert.

Sprinkler Fun

The sprinklers went off just before Grandma and Grandpa went back to their hotel during their visit for Kassidy's baptism. It having been a very hot day, I told the kids to jump in and enjoy the cool water.
Anna lives on a farm, and they don't have sprinklers there, so she had a blast. My mother tried to get her out, which of course didn't work.

Balancing Act

Last week, we all enjoyed the heat hanging out in and around the inflatable pool and sprinkler ball. Katharine, creative as usual, decided that it would be fun to be a tight rope artist. She grabbed her umbrella, filled a plastic tea cup with water and balanced on the side of the pool. Anna followed suit and took a beach ball. Eventually, both girls made it around the pool without falling into the water. Wearing goggles was very important.

American Girl Store II

Alright, now I figured out how to post multiple pictures. I just added the blog app to my phone and am still learning. Sorry about two posts for the same event.

American Girl Store

On Sunday I took Anna, Katharine and my mother to the American Girl store. The girls each got to pick a Mini Doll and we had some ice-cream and cappuccino. Kassidy got to go, too. She got a head start and got introduced to the world of dolls early. Keira napped and missed out on the opportunity, though I can only imagine what damage she would have/ could have caused sitting at the bar.

Plastic Party

I finally got around to taking pictures off my small camera. A few weeks ago Katharine created a pool for her Barbie dolls out of the water table.

Diaper Cake

Thank you, Liz, for a beautiful diaper cake!

Kassidy's Baptism

Kassidy was baptized on Sunday. The service went great, and was followed by a fun luncheon with friends.

She slept though most of the event- but at least she'll have pictures :)

Congratulations, Kassidy!

Taps and Trainers

Keira has always liked to sit on the potty, so Iria is rolling the dice and trying a little potty training with her this week. Here she is in her training pants.

She also loves to put on tap shoes and dance.

Looks like dance school is in her future... after she gets the potty training over with.
