Iria and Katharine returned to Ludwigsburg near the end of the trip to tour the castle/palace. We had planned to bring the boys, but Lukas had an inopportune temper tantrum which cost him (and Lennon and I) the trip. Maybe next time... I hear the gardens are amazing in Spring/Summer.
Lukas and Lennon missing the tour through the palace was for the better. It was colder inside the castle(15 degrees) than outside (25 degrees, it was a "warm" day). Katharine was bitterly cold at the end of the 3/4 mile walk through the castle and I had to carry her. She did recover her spirits at the gift shop. Only a few passages/ small anterooms out of the 65 rooms shown on the tour (the palace has a total of 452 rooms) were heated.
