She weighed 8 pounds and 9 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.
Both mother and baby are doing great.
We arrived for the induction at 7:30 AM, and had the kids with us for the first few hours.
The sanitized medical supplies quickly began to mingle with snack food spillover.
Gwen and Julie arrived, which was entertaining for both the kids and Iria.
Gwen and Lukas were fascinated with the baby's heartbeat.
Katharine started reading a new book, leafing through and checking out all of the pictures first.
Gwen and Lukas didn't seem to mind.
And Keira did her usual cute stuff.
At around 10:30 AM the boys went to the Martel's house...
and Katharine and Keira window shopped their way over to the Milettes.
Iria spent part of the afternoon sucking on ice cubes and watching "I Dream of Jeannie" reruns on my iPad.
Here I am dressed up to deliver a baby! This was the first time that the doctor visited, but Kassidy wouldn't arrive until about 4 hours and 2 more doctor visits later. By then I was back at Iria's side, holding her hand and rattling off the ten counts. I'll just stick to my current job.
Here is Kassidy just about a minute after she was born. The bruise on her head was from her rough trip through the birth canal.
She didn't cry very much, and was very content to snuggle up to her Mommy.
She was also very curious, and lifted her head to look around a few times.
We started making the calls shortly thereafter. Katharine started screaming when she heard the news, and I could hear Gwen and Trinity shouting for joy and dancing around in the background.
Lukas started crying when he heard the news, as he had been really hoping for a new brother. He is great with Keira, so I'm sure that he will become fast buddies with his new baby sister.
Good night, Kassidy. She will meet all of her brothers and sisters tomorrow morning.
Congratulations! I can't wait to meet the newest Doescher!!
