Some new Katharine art

Katharine has been creating some pretty trippy art as of late. Here is a picture of Iria, Katharine, Lukas and Lennon posing outside under a rainbow.

This is a picture of the family splashing around in a pool.

This is a picture of her visiting Great Aunt and Oma being swarmed by a bunch of mosquitos,,, huh?

And finally Katharine drew this picture commemorating her participation in this years "Angel Tree" gift giving charity at out church (poor children fill out wish lists on cards and then hang them on the tree, and then people pick the cards and buy the gifts for them). Up top is an angel holding a bag of gifts (I'm not sure what is circled around her,, maybe more gifts) and below that she wrote out the words to "Jesus Loves Me" until Iria had to take over at the very end.

Katharine had her first ice skating class today with her friends Trinity and Liam. Everyone had a lot of fun and did really well.

Unhappy Lukas

And here is a trip down memory lane. Nobody could scream like Lukas did at that age,,,

Unhappy Lennon

Sometimes I get tired of posting cute pictures. Here is Lennon in all his screaming glory: we've got snot, eye gook, caked milk on his tongue. Let out a big throaty scream at home for the full effect.

More Katharine art

Here is some more Katharine art from today.

On the left is a drawing of her beloved teddy bear key chain.
On the right is the song list from her upcoming "Spring Tea Party" that she has been planning (and obsessing about) as of late. Strawberrys and blueberrys will be served,,,

Katharine and Lukas art

About a week or so ago both of the kids grabbed some construction paper at the table and began to draw (this pretty much happens every day- but I happened to save these). These two pictures are very representative of their work nowadays.
Katharine's subject matter is her family. She gave each of us heart heads and then she embarked on some flowing linework (lined with more heart heads) that represents our house.
Lukas's subject matter was "bo-bo", and even though I have no idea what that means he is always quick to point out where the babies are in the picture if you ask him. He likes to put his head down and draw in small and concentrated bursts. Every cluster on the page represents one of these bo-bo's, and you get the sense that when he is finished it is finished and should be obvious to the world (or to a bo-bo,,,).

Happy Lennon

Lennon was a bit fussy today; but shortly after a bottle, fresh diaper and a good burp he is usually all smiles.

Two more

Ok, I found two more pics that I had been meaning to post.

The first is of Lukas in one of his judo puppet poses. You have to imagine him putting the puppet on his hand, running straight at you, stopping abruptly, and then sticking his arm straight out as he goes into a judo crouch yelling "ROAAARRRRRR!!". It doesn't matter if the puppet is a sheep or a dragon,, they all go "ROAAARRRRRR!!".
The second picture is of Lennon from around two weeks ago cracking one of his early smiles. He shows much more gum now, so I need to get an updated picture,,,

Zoo pics

Well, I am now pretty much caught up with my blog posts. I took the kids to the zoo on the first day of Thanksgiving break. It was the first cold day of the year, so not many of the animals were up and about. Luckily the stone ones never go anywhere.

One note; in the last picture Lukas reminds me a little bit of his friend Aiden. I have never really thought of them as looking alike, but I guess if the light is right and Lukas's frizzy hair is blowing in the right direction you could say that they look a little similar,,,

Static!

You ever wonder what it looks like when Lukas's hair meets the static from a slide? Yes? Well, wonder no more,,,

Talking to Grandpa

Ever wonder what it looks like on Lukas's side of the line when he talks on the phone? No? Well, here it is anyway.

Bicentennial Park

I'm catching up on some blog updates, so lets go back in time a bit to a week or so ago. Frisco's Bicentennial Park has a cool wooden playground set and globe fountain. We snapped these pictures of the kids before they got sopping wet in the fountain. No worries; it was one of those 80+ degree Dallas November days.

Christmas card outtakes: Part 1?

We went to the Dallas Arboritum today to take a Christmas card photo of the three kids. I'm not sure if we got the final photo, but we got a few nice outtakes.

The Frisco Ballet Nutcracker

Halloween to Christmas,, has it been that long since the last post?

Because the holidays can never start to early; Katharine, Maya and Trinity saw the Frisco Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker today. The performance was well done for what was essentially a dance school production, and the girls stayed transifxed through most of it.
Overheard: Trinity wondered why none of the dancers talked, and Katharine and Maya debated if the Arabian princess was in an ant costume or not.
On top is a picture that Katharine drew for the occasion. All three girls are standing under an apple tree beneath a heart shaped sun.
