Lots of Ballet

It was a weekend filled with dance, mainly ballet!
Katharine's recital was Friday night - wow- what a show! We are so proud and loved watching Katharine perform! Photos will follow.

Saturday night Erik and I went to see Ballet West perform Balanchine and Forsyth.




Sunday afternoon Katharine and I went to Texas Ballet Theater's last performance of the season (works by Kilian, Balanchine and a world premiere by Watkins). It also was one of Katharine's favorite dancers Betsy McBride's last perforce with TBT as she will be dancing with ABT starting in June. Betsy graciously came out after the show to see the girls for a farewell.

Happy Birthday, Kassidy!

Kassidy turned 5 today.

Kassidy continues to grow into a very sweet and strong willed girl, who has the size and the attitude to keep up with all of her older siblings :)

Another weekend of rain, and the ten day forecast is booked solid with the wet stuff.

I need to remember how July and August is going to feel before I complain too much about it..

Open House

Keira took me to the open house at her school. She read to me, showed me around her classroom and school, and we played a fun math game together.

This has got to be the cutest tour guide ever!

Hall of Fame Dance Competition

While Lennon was at his tournament, Katharine had a dance competition in Ft. Worth.

Katharine's team did very well again, but more importantly, she had a great time with her new friends, and she got to see her old dance friends Emma, Claire and Katie who also competed with their new dance home.

A Tale of Two Trophies

Lennon resides in two very different soccer worlds- Chaos and Andromeda.

Chaos is the recreational team that he has been on since he was 4. 

Chaos can play some pretty painful looking soccer, and are usually at the bottom of the league. But he gets to play with Frousin Nolan (who is another highlight on the team), and that is all that matters to him.

Here they are at their 'End of the Season' party last week. 

Lennon was named the "finesse" player, for his skills and moves on the field. Nolan was named the "ricochet" player (or something like that), because any incoming ball or player will typically end up bouncing back in the other direction :)

Lennon also plays soccer for Andromeda 08, an academy team that teaches skills and technique at a more advanced level. 

They started up last Fall, and played their first tournament this weekend. 

They claimed first place in their division and ended up winning the championship for their age group. Lennon scored 2 goals in the championship game and had an assist with a corner kick, as the team won 4-1. 

Across the whole tournament, Lennon scored 8 or Andromeda's 14 goals and assisted on half of the others.

Lennon actually likes Kassidy... when she is not terrorizing him.

In the Box

Iria might not be a big fan of visiting the dentist, but the kids sure like it when she does. 

Gearbox is in the same building, so while Iria is getting worked on the kids are upstairs eating doughnuts and playing Smash Bros :)

Keira's Kindergarten Concert - "Planting a Rainbow"

Keira's kindergarten class had their spring concert last night. 

Keira's class sung "Peanut Butter and Jelly" while playing percussion, and Keira was picked out to read the song intro for the class.

I head the lady next to me remark to her friend about what an excellent reading job Keira did. This is the same Keira who started public school this year primarily to receive speech therapy. She is out of the speech therapy sessions now, excelling in school, and we are all really proud of her.
