Happy Birthday, Katharine!

Katharine turned 8 today.

Katharine's favorite colors are gold and pink.

She loves to eat naan bread, yellow rice, strawberries and blueberries.

The only meat she eats is chicken.

Her favorite song is currently "Don't Stop Me Now", and she is always singing to herself.

Her favorite movie is "Tangled".

If she had 3 wishes she would wish for a new Barbie doll, a new leotard, and ballet shoes.

She loves to pretend to be a mermaid and play with her dolls.

She loves to dance- ballet is her favorite.

In fact, when she grows up she wants to be a dancer (and a mermaid).

She also loves to draw, read, and watch TV.

Her favorite desert is vanilla ice cream.

Her closest friends are Maya, Trinity, Charlotte and Liam.

Her favorite subject in school is history, and she especially liked learning about King Arthur, Islam, and Ancient Greece.

She loves to carry around Kassidy.

Iria took me out on a surprise dinner tonight for our 10th anniversary. We ate at Top Chef Tre's restaurant 'Loft 610' in Plano. Amazing food and a great time!

Potty Parasites

Keira is finishing up her final round of potty training. Her brothers aren't there for moral support, but rather they have keyed into the fact that she gets a few pieces of candy whenever she is successful... and are looking for a hand-out. This has actually worked out in a backwards kind of way, because they are always asking Keira "do you want to go potty??".

The Doescher Lounge

The Martels gave us their old keyboard, having just upgraded to a stand-up piano (thanks, guys!). I don't know if there are one of those in our future, but Keira and Lennon have definitely taken to it.

And Iria had some hidden skills of her own, having taken piano lessons for 5 years when she was kid. So I guess there are still some new things to discover after 10 years of marriage...

There were some nice icicles outside within my reach, so I grabbed them to show the boys and they proceeded to eat them.

Snow and Cocoa

A few inches of snow fell today, so we had a fun afternoon outside and built ourselves a snowman. The kids never need an excuse to drink some cocoa, but today they actually needed some :)
