Tea for 7

Trinity and Gwen came over today for tea, dancing, and other assorted mayhem.

Gwen and Lukas got a little camera shy, so of course I had to chase them through the house randomly snapping my camera...

Katharine Doescher and the Amazing Reading Adventure

Katharine finished off the Harry Potter series last week.

I'm not sure what she will be moving on to next, as it will be very tough to top that one.

It has been a while since I posted some art- I need to get scanning again!

In the meantime, here are some new drawings by Lukas:

And one by Katharine:

Stuffed Animal Kingdom

This is how I found Lennon in bed tonight. Some of his lovies aren't even in his bed.

Little Ringmaster

I think that this might be the first circus that Lennon didn't sleep through, and he is having a really fun night along with Katharine and Lukas.

But it's tough seeing another show like this so soon after Cirque du Soleil... and I'm missing Bello.

Uh oh, Lukas just put the crazy hat on my head. Time to go!

The kids learn early, after enduring weeks of continuous 100 degree weather with no relief in sight.

Cornerstone Scavenger Hunt

Our Sunday school class had a fun couples social tonight: a scavenger hunt. Thanks to Allison and DeeDee for organizing. Here are a few pictures of sone of the tasks we had to try to accomplish:

Post Dance Camp

Lukas and Katharine ended their first week of dance camp with a small show case. I took them to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert afterwards.

It was Katharine's 5th year of dance camp and Lukas' first. He loved it! Lennon can't wait until he gets to go next year.

Face Painting

Katharine got a face painting book and tried it out for the first time over the weekend.

They came out pretty cool!

Keira was a cat.

Lennon was a tiger- here he is passed out in the jungle.

Lukas chose a snake tattoo.

Afterwards, Keira was running around sticking out her tongue and growling at everyone- which is not very different from the way she acts without the face paint!

Big Fort, Little Fort

When the kids are going to trash the living room, they might as well be creative about it. On this day they moved blankets, couch cushions, chairs, and other random stuff to create a pretty extensive fort.

Lukas is in there somewhere... I think.

And of course, the best fort is sometimes just a simple cardboard box.

Shake it up Cafe

VBS is over. The week always ends with the k through 5th grade VBS kids singing in the early morning service.

Here is a picture of Katharine and Lukas last week before all the craziness of each VBS day started.

Singing, making a joyful noise:

End of the Season

Lukas had his baseball wrap-up party at the Jack Carter Pool this morning. Here he is posing with his coach and holding his trophy.

And here are photos from the rest of the party- lots of splashing and sugar.

Perfect for another 100+ degree day in Texas.

Lukas wants to give soccer a try in the Fall, but I hope he sticks with t-ball as well. His coach told me that he was a really good learner and one of his best players, despite having never played baseball before. A south-paw can go far in this sport, so we shall see...
