Young Master Builders

Here are some Lego creations that they boys have been working on.

Lennon's spaceship and Lukas's castle came out really cool!

Extra! Extra!

Katharine's newspaper that she is writing.

Andromeda Skies

Lennon is actually on two soccer teams this season.

The first is Chaos, which is his recreational league team that he has played on for a few seasons.

The second is Andromeda, which is an academy team. Lennon started this month and has been doing great, despite the fact that it is a first grade team who have all played together since they were really young in an advanced league.

But Lennon really loves to play, and has had a lot of  fun with the extra practices and games.

Here are the practice fields, under a pretty Texas sky. Lennon is one of those dark red blobs in the photo...

Tea Party

Lennon's lovies meet Katharine's tea set in a party coordinated by Keira.

Horse Face

Keira's expression when a bunch of white horses started galloping around during the Medieval Times party.

Yes, the girl LOVES horses.

Start of the Season

Here are the young lads from Chaos, preparing to take to the pitch.

Preparing for Christmas

Christmas is only ten months away, so the boys started on their list.

Ready for Take-Off

It is well into February and I haven't posted any of the pictures I took during our trip. Erik focused mainly on taking videos, which means I have most of the pictures, which also haven't all been uploaded to the computer because I used two different phones!

We left sunny and cold Texas on December 15, 2013 in the hopes to arrive in snowy and cold Germany on Lukas' birthday, December 16th. Well, we sure did not see much snow, but more about that later...

Here are pictures of our first day:

Luggage and opening Christmas presents from our awesome frousins, the Martels, yes, we are still at home.

At DFW airport, waiting to board.

We have made it onto the plane. Can you tell they are excited?

15 Years of Gearbox

On February 16th, 2014 Gearbox Software celebrated 15 successful years. The entire company celebrated at Medieval Times. What a blast! Let's toast to the next 15 years!
I can't imagine Erik being part of a better company!

The grand entrance of the knights.

What a beautiful little lady at the court!

Keira was happy to see many horses!

Kassidy enjoyed the chicken.

Keira and Erik eating Medieval style - with their fingers.

I love this photo of Kassidy and Kate!

The Doescher and Martel brood: They had so much fun together!

Swinging into Soccer

The thermometer hits 70 this Saturday- must be time for Spring soccer!

Sorry for the lack of blog posts- I have been trying to catch up with cataloging all of the videos and photos that I took last year and over our trip (there should be a nice trip video coming soon).

In the meantime, here are the boys and the frousins practicing their kicks over last Thanksgiving.

Tua and the Elephant

We are reading "Tua and the Elephant ", so we have an accompanying art project with it.

This is a wonderful book. We already learned a few phrases in Thai, the geography, climate and culture of Thailand.

Step 1: draw an elephant with sharpie, then outline with hot glue or white glue. Let dry.
Step 2: cover with aluminum foil, rub gently and the glue lines will appear.
Step 3: paint with acrylic paint.

The finished art work:

Kassidy had some help:
