NYC trip- hanging out in Queens

Uncle Peter and Aunt Sue hosted us in their house for the visit.

We settled into their routine quite easily- talking around the TV and eating lots of diner food :)

It is fitting that record rainfalls would bring a soaked Halloween. Unlucky that this is the first wet day in a week, however,,

Anyways, nothing can keep a kid from their free candy.

Lost and Found

A super cute kitten found its way into our backyard today.

The kids all fell in love with it (of course), but Iria found the mother who was wandering around with a sibling and gave it back. 

The mother has a collar and we have seen her around before (she has even gone through our pet door once or twice), so we assume they aren't homeless- although it would be nice if that "home" of hers got her spade at some point..

Katharine, Lukas and I just returned from NYC.

Aunt Sue and Uncle Peter hosted us in their house for the week, and we had a very nice visit.

Happy Birthday, Iria!

Iria completed another trip around the sun today, and we all love her so much. 

The harder she works, the happier she gets- so the five kids being home schooled and driven around the metroplex to activities every day has pretty much worked out for her.

We found a great new place for Indian food and enjoyed a wonderful birthday meal.

And in true Iria fashion- she made her own delicious cake :)
