Dobby

Katharine started reading the Harry Potter books a few weeks ago and is already halfway through book 4 (it must be nice not having to wait a few years between each release).

She drew this picture of Dobby last Friday, and in the spirit of the elusive house elf the drawing has gone in and out of hiding over the past few days.

At first it dropped behind one of the couch cushions during Parents Night Out and we thought it was lost. It was found and returned to Katharine during church service on Sunday, only to be left behind under the bench in her Sunday School class later on. I went back up to try and find it on our way out and it had already moved outside to the lost and found table.

So here it is, finally back home and scanned (with a few extra wrinkles on display). I can still see the original sitting on my scanner table next to me, but I won't be surprised if it is gone again by tomorrow...

100 Candles

I was playing some random numbers game with Katharine a few weeks ago and came to the realization that she was turning 100 months old in May. We never need an excuse to have some fun and celebrate friendship, but it is always a plus when you can work a cake into the festivities.

So the Martel's, Thomas's, and Gwen came over and we did just that!

Morning Nap

Kassidy fell asleep during Lukas' game.

Keira's Path of Destruction

One bottle of liquid foundation, my best make up brush, one pound of hair pins and one messy girl:

Getting her clean needed bath soap, shampoo, my body scrub and make up remover:( not her finest hour.

Saturday Morning Gallery

Speaking of rainbows, here is a cool drawing that Katharine made yesterday of a forest ranger.

Dallas World Aquarium

I wanted to take the kids to the zoo today, however, Noah's Flood came upon us and I had to change plans. We went to the aquarium instead, had Mexican food for lunch and ate our sandwiches at home where we had an indoor picnic.

A tree kangaroo

Fairy penguins

The Pygmy Marmosets were a lot of fun to watch

We met a sloth up close and personal, too.

The Manatee

Keira had a blast watching the sharks. "ooh, shark head meee!"

The Jaguar looked very cuddly.

Picnic at the end of the day. And yes, it is still raining as I am posting this.

Attacking the Blondies

I never cut the Blondies into small pieces, so the three beasties decided to help themselves with forks:

Jewel Yam Blondies

Had some jewel yams and needed to do something with them, so I made blondes. And even Katharine approves! Score.
Lennon just asked for a second one.

Happy Birthday, Kassidy!

Happy birthday to our wonderful (and much loved) little girl, Kassidy.

This morning we celebrated the occasion with a birthday breakfast, consisting of birthday cake and ice cream cones. Iria supplied the hat, and the sugared up kids supplied the charm.

Here are some Kassidy facts:

She is 21.9 pounds, in the 56th percentile for her age
She is 30 inches tall, in the 80th percentile for her age
She loves to eat mangos and avocados
She loves to sing, clap and wave
She loves to give big hugs (especially with Lennon)
She is most definitely a Mommy's girl
She loves to be carried around by Katharine
She loves to play in the car with Lukas (he sits next to her)
She sits next to Keira during meals and is often fed by her
She likes to pull out books and Tupperware and scatter them all over the floor
She loves her baby blankets
Her nickname is "Dee Dee" (which is how Keira pronounces her name)
She has eight teeth
She is a really easy and laid back baby

Looking forward to year number two!
