Birthdays in the Park

Despite the fiery temperatures and fiery ants, we had a fun time last Sunday celebrating our big birthday week with friends and family.

The streamer crafts were a big hit, and I'm sure that they will be coming back at future events.

That's it for the September birthdays. 

Iria is up next in October, and then we have a small break until the Lukas and Katharine birthdays come up around the new year.

Happy Birthday, Keira!

Fresh off Lennon's birthday comes Keira's, although she would not acknowledge the fact that she turned four years old until she had eaten her birthday cupcake after supper.

Keira Facts:

1. Favorite food is macaroni and cheese

2. Still very much a Daddy's girl

3. Likes to draw pictures of her family

4. Loves 'Phineas and Ferb', 'Tangled', and 'My Little Pony'

5. Favorite color is purple

6. Is a really good bicyclist, and is probably ready for a big kid bike

7. Has a bit of a temper, which is often directed at Lennon

8. Can't go to sleep without one of her parents

9. Loves to play dolls with Katharine

10. Doesn't like to wait

11. Favorite snack is spicey chips ('Garden of Eden' Red Hot Blues)

12. Prefers soy milk to real milk

13. Afraid of garbage trucks and dragon flies

14. Not a cat person

15. Favorite things to say: "Lennon!!!", "Awesome!", and "Heh hee" (an mysterious phrase that is often inserted at the start of  a sentence)

16. Will insert her middle name into another person's name when she is mad at them (example: "Lennon Victoria Doescher!")

17. Hates not sitting next to Daddy at the dinner table

18. Very complimentary and polite when given food

19. Likes to wear leotards

20. Favorite song is "Turn to Stone"

Opening Day

Here are some pictures from Opening Day of the boy's sports teams two weeks ago.

Lukas's flag football team has been getting decimated every week, but in his mind he is having fun and the score is always tied. Sounds good to me...

At their age it is hard to tell if Lennon's soccer team wins or loses, but they are all having a lot of fun as well. Last week it was really muddy and Lennon scored his first goal (an amazing controlled run from one end of the field to the other), which would have made for some awesome pictures if I had remembered my camera...

Kassidy

Kassidy wandered outside while we were taking Lennon's birthday picture.

She loves getting her picture taken, and I never get tired of that scrunched up nose and toothy smile.

Lennon turned five years old today!

Iria had to expand the birthday crown for the first time- our little guy is growing fast. 

Lennon facts:

1. Lennon LOVES soccer
2. Eats almost any kind of chocolate
3. Likes kindergarten choir at church and learning German songs at home in music class
4. Strongly dislikes anything containing peanuts
5. Loves Lego, Lego, and more Lego
6. Still loves his lovies: donkey, two bears and a mouse 
7. Can be super silly or very serious
8. Favorite superhero this year: Iron Man
9. Still loves vanilla soymilk
10. Enjoys eating meat
11. Favorite breakfast food: waffles
12. Still whines a lot
13. Does almost everything with his big brother Lukas

14. Chose crescent rolls and sausage for his birthday breakfast

15. Is a very smart kid

16. Does not get along very well with Keira

Cub Scout

Another first for us this month- cub scouts!

Although I think that he is technically a "tiger" scout... but that is close enough for me.

More posts should be coming soon as the big wave of birthdays hit. 

I've been working late all month to finish up a game, so photos and videos have taken a bit of a back seat.

Soccer Dad

A Doescher kid has finally taken up soccer- although in today's 104 degree weather Hell had no chance of freezing over...

Lennon did great. 

He ran really fast and aced all of the mini soccer clinics that they rotated him through. 

Once he starts chasing after the ball in the games he should do really well.

I was really proud of him :)

And did I mention that it was hot?

But nothing that a little bit of ice cream couldn't fix!
