The Three Easter Egg Hunts of Easter

Lots of Easter Egg Hunts this past weekend!

Friday

The Gearbox Easter Egg Hunt was held on Friday afternoon. I like this one, as they always serve free drinks and gourmet pizza. That is my producer Allison in the bunny outfit- she always wanted to be a Disney theme park character but has too many tattoos to qualify. Now she is living the dream.

Saturday

The Martel Easter Egg hunt had some serious money in play- but Keira had the $20 dollar golden egg snatched out from in front of her reaching hand by a younger kid. Everybody is dressed in orange for Brian's birthday.

Sunday

Our longest Easter Egg Hunt tradition is at Grandma Donnas house. The kids always love it, because there is such an abundance of eggs that everyone can fill their bags to overflowing. They were still finding some eggs about hour after the initial start.

On to the egg counting!

Keira's dance friend Mercy came over for a few hours yesterday. It was her first visit.

Easter Nativity

Introducing Hermione Granger

Keira just started reading the Harry Potter series, so of course she is walking around as the Hermione character most of the time (which is actually a pretty good fit for her). Here she is in her Gryffindoor colors this morning, walking around with her magical beasts notebook.

Bur don't worry- she still breaks out her bonnet and plays in the pretend prairie.

A Tale of Two Beds

Competition Season

Spring is here- the season of new beginnings.. and dance competitions.

Keira and her Pace dance group won a platinum trophy for their Mary Poppins dance, and 8th overall in her age category. Their jazz number won an elite gold.

Sleeping Over

The frousins are in town for a few days, and there is currently a marathon of sleepovers happening before they leave on Sunday.

They all came over to our house last night, but the only ones who were sleeping very well were Keira, Iria, and the dog :)

Lego Tower

The boys have been working on a massive Lego tower in their room for the past week or so.

Each room is unique, and there are a lot of great details on the outside of the tower as well.

And did I mention that it is pretty big?

Birthday Wishes

Kassidy submitted her 80 page birthday list over the weekend, and is already hard at work on additional pages.

We just have 30 more days left to save up all of our money..

Onward Lent

Lent has begun, and three of our family members are participating.

Iria has given up social media.

Lennon has given up chewing gum.

And Kassidy has given up... corn?

Romeo and Juliet

Katharine performed in a local theater production of Romeo and Juliet. She played a few minor roles Sampson, Friar John, a citizen and a guard), and we were all impressed on how well she nailed the dialogue and enunciation. Up until now we have mainly seen just the singing and dancing, so it has been great seeing the acting emerge as well.

Anastasia

This last weekend, I took Kassidy, Keira, and her friend Jane to the Anastasia musical.

 We had a great time, until the mac and cheese that was left maybe one week too long in the fridge started acting up with Keira.

Suffice to say, Keira and I missed most of the second act, but the other two girls were able to finish it off.

But now I'll never know if she was the real Anastasia or not..
