Mexico 1900-1950 at the Dallas Museum of Art

Here are a few pictures of the special exhibit that is currently still on display at the Dallas Museum of Art. It is a wonderful collection of paintings by Mexican artists such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Jose Montenegro and others. It explores 50 years of Mexican modern art. Dallas is the first and only stop of this exhibit in the US after having been presented at the Grand Palais, Paris. It features almost 200 works of painting, sculpture, photography, drawings and films that document the country's artistic Renaissance during the  first half of the 20th century. The travelling exhibit showcases the work of titans of Mexican Modernism alongside that of lesser-known pioneers.

Katharine, the boys and I have seen this exhibit twice, Erik and the  girls went for the first time today. Maybe a catalog of the exhibit needs to be purchased.

The Braids that Tie

Maya is in town for a few days, and the girls haven't lost a beat.

Signing Day

Lennon has gone Select, and signed with Coach Che at FC Dallas- a Division 1 team in North Texas.

No more recreation league allowed for him after this point, so bye bye Chaos and hello to FC Dallas 07 Blue.

And yes, he actually sign a contract.

Figure Drawing

Katharine has been attending figure drawing sessions at Gearbox, and has been having a great time.

Here she is with Seung ("Mr. Kim") who used to work as a Disney animator. He has given her a lot of great feedback.

This is her third session, and she has been getting better and better.  

She is only 14. Yikes!

I usually just scribble in ball point pen during these sessions. I need to get some paper and charcoal and start on some proper drawings..

Father's Day Favors

I had a good Father's Day with the family.

Kassidy drew me a cute card that was very intricately folded and taped up.

Keira performed a dance show for me.

Off The Grid

The Mason's invited me and the boys up to spend a few days at their cabin with them last week. We all had a lot of fun, and they were great hosts.

The cabin's name is "Electric Avenue", but with no cell service I put the phone and the iPad away for most of the trip.

I still had my Nintendo Switch, Kindle. and camera.. so I didn't get too outdoorsy.
