Trinity came over this afternoon, and there was some serious silliness going on in the bathtub.

The Greatest Show on Earth

Well,,, Jeramy and I would argue that the Cirque du Soleil is quite a bit "greater", but the Ringling Brothers Circus with Bello the clown is still a lot of fun. Katharine and Maya were enraptured (and were working a pretty good sugar high off of some 12 dollar cotton candy), and Bello cracked Katharine up every time he was on performing.

Lukas, having missed his nap, switched between periods of intense focus and cranky restlessness. He finally passed out on my lap about halfway through the second act. We were all impressed with how he could sleep amidst the barrage of lights and sound.

I have been super busy this month, and Iria has taken a lot more pictures than me. I’ve just got to teach her how to post pictures since they all get downloaded onto her Mac.

Iced Rasberry Mousse

Katharine found a recipe in one of her cookbooks today, and since it was too hot to go outside the next best thing was to stay inside and make iced raspberry mousse!



The kids improvised and added marshmallows during the mixing phase.



Lennon was happy enough to get some spare rasberries.



Licking the whisks was a highlight. It is always my favorite part,,



And after two hours in the freezer: iced rasberry mousse!



And after only two spoonfuls, it was on to researching the next recipe.

Pajama time

So this is what our Christmas card was supposed to look like last year,, minus the bedroom background and matching pajamas. Happy holidays everyone!

All of the kids were dead tired and cranky tonight by 5:30 PM, and Iria and I were asking ourselves how we were going to make it past the next 90 minutes until bedtime. Turns out that a bath and matching set of pajamas did the trick- we had to drag them into their beds at 7:30 and read a whole ‘Winnie the Poo’ chapter before they started getting sleepy again.

Katharine loves to draw superheroes. Go figure?

The one in gold is "Star Girl", whose secret identity is Eowyn Galadriel. That is a Katharine original.
