Swim Lessons

I got to take the boys to their swim lesson earlier this week. They both went underwater, and started taking some tentative strokes all by themselves. I know the school has great teachers, but what else could get my kids to stick their head underwater?

BRIBES!

Specifically candy...

and toys.

Well, whatever works for the them works for me- I definitely want to get them swimming soon.

The 3rd of July

On Sunday we went to the Milette's house for swimming, some incredible barbecue, and the birthday celebration for Gwen and her cousin. There were a lot of kids there, and I can't even begin to name them all. 

It makes you wonder if the Texas sun wasn't the only reason that the pool water was so warm...

World Cup

The women's World Cup just started, and the USA has both an exciting and competitive team to watch. The kids looked on during their win against Columbia yesterday, and hopefully the girls came away inspired and the boys not so annoyed (because no guys were playing).

Destin Diary: Destin

We loved our time in Destin, and were within a few minutes walk of both the beach and the local oyster shack restaurant. With those two bases covered- there was rarely a need for the car.

My dental hygienist gets credit for recommending the trip- she suggested that we check this area out after I had been telling her of our last road trip to Colorado (between rinses).
