Sleeping Over

The frousins are in town for a few days, and there is currently a marathon of sleepovers happening before they leave on Sunday.

They all came over to our house last night, but the only ones who were sleeping very well were Keira, Iria, and the dog :)

Lego Tower

The boys have been working on a massive Lego tower in their room for the past week or so.

Each room is unique, and there are a lot of great details on the outside of the tower as well.

And did I mention that it is pretty big?

Birthday Wishes

Kassidy submitted her 80 page birthday list over the weekend, and is already hard at work on additional pages.

We just have 30 more days left to save up all of our money..

Onward Lent

Lent has begun, and three of our family members are participating.

Iria has given up social media.

Lennon has given up chewing gum.

And Kassidy has given up... corn?

Romeo and Juliet

Katharine performed in a local theater production of Romeo and Juliet. She played a few minor roles Sampson, Friar John, a citizen and a guard), and we were all impressed on how well she nailed the dialogue and enunciation. Up until now we have mainly seen just the singing and dancing, so it has been great seeing the acting emerge as well.

Anastasia

This last weekend, I took Kassidy, Keira, and her friend Jane to the Anastasia musical.

 We had a great time, until the mac and cheese that was left maybe one week too long in the fridge started acting up with Keira.

Suffice to say, Keira and I missed most of the second act, but the other two girls were able to finish it off.

But now I'll never know if she was the real Anastasia or not..

Return of the Monkey

The FC Dallas regular season started up again yesterday. 

We bought this monkey at one of our first games a few years back, and bring him to each home game for good luck.

The game ended as a 1-1 draw. Not the greatest start, but they got some points.

Earlier in the day, Lennon scored his first hat trick (3 goals) for his team this season in a 4-0 win.

And we didn't even have to bring the monkey :)\

Hacked with a Heart

My completely dormant Instagram account suddenly went active today, with three new posts.

It was not hard to figure out who the culprit was, and it was even harder to believe that she would actually lie and deny it (I mean, it is her favorite stuffed animal and nutcracker plus a picture of Laura Ingalls).

She got into a bit of trouble for all of that, but I did like the pictures. 

I think I'll keep them on there :)

Homeward Lunching

I usually go home and eat lunch with the family once a week.

Today Iria made some great french toast casserole from some leftover bread and fruit that we had lying around. 

It is cool when you can take some leftovers that nobody wants and turn it into something that they want even more than brand new food :)

11's

Lennon's team played their first 11x11 game today and ran around a lot.

New Project

Keira started sewing a dress for herself.

Fabric has been chosen, and the pattern has been pinned and gathered.

More Awards

At last weekend's AMP Plano Theater Award show (kind of like the local theater version of the Tony's) Katharine won an award for best dance performance and was a finalist for a bunch of others 

Here she is pictured with her friend (and often co-star) Abbey and her director Morgan.

Dog Food

The vet asked us to put Sherman on a special diet. 

No more dry dog food (which he hated and never finished half the time), but rather a mix of certain unseasoned meats/rice/grains/vegetables.

The meal often looks good enough to eat, and it quite literally is.

Now as for the "diet" part..

I messed up the portions last night, and gave him around 3 or 4 times as much food as he is supposed to get. 

And that little dig still cleaned it all up in a few minutes!

Performance Awards

The annual Performance Awards were held at dance last weekend. 

Each girl performs a small program (no costumes or loud music) and is judged on their technical abilities and performance. It is more academic than entertainment.

Keira and her friends all pulled down gold medals and a scholarship to a summer NYC Dance Intensive that none of them will ever go to..

Table Tops and Bottoms

The Martels gave us a nice activity table for our Tree Room, 

Keira quickly put it to use, but still preferred the floor to the chairs..
