Katharine's Birthday Party

Katharine finally had a little birthday celebration with her roomies! That is all she asked for, just a little celebration with Emma, Claire and Katie.
We came up with the idea of having a scavenger hunt through the Dallas Museum of Art. The girls got a list of clues as to what art works they had to look for and what tasks they had to complete once they discovered the art. They worked together, had a lot of fun and ended the celebration with the best gluten free cupcakes!

They just got their clues! Left to right: Katharine, Emma ( both with their faces covered), Katie and Claire

The first painting has been found. Below they are striking a pose like Perseus in the background.

It's sketch time. Copying "Three Men Walking"

Above and below are the girls trying to hold the same pose as a Buddhist statue of Siddharta Guatama for one minute, including being silent. Claire was out after 10 seconds!

Posing like the "Green Tara"

Fierce faces

They had to sketch each other and show fierce faces like this Buddhist statue of a companion of a goddess.

African Helmet Mask

"Emma in the Purple Dress", I thought this would be funny for the girls to look for.

Done!

Making their own art inspired by something they saw or experienced at the museum.

At the very beginning they had to make a sketch of me freaking out if they got too close to or touched a piece of art, Emma thought that was funny and incorporated it in her picture! Hahaha!

They clearly love each other!

The day ended with a dinner to cheer up their friend Tara who cannot dance for the next couple of weeks. She strained two bones in her foot so badly that after being in a boot for 4 weeks, she now has a cast for at least four more weeks, then another boot or cast:( Quite few of their teammates came out in the thunderstorm last night to show their love and support for Tara.
