Lukas was the only other kid who could keep pace with Katharine at the pool and on the beach.
He is still learning how to swim, so he got a lot of practice on the boogie board in the pool. He also made a friend who enjoyed sinking toy boats as much as he did. At the beach he would wade out and confront the incoming waves with either a punch or a karate chop.
Back at the house it was all about the Legos, and on the car trip he played on a DS for the first time and figured out enough of the games to have fun- despite not knowing how to read.
