Are we done yet?

Nope, I must have taken A LOT of pictures in Munich! But everything was so great!
I forgot to add the picture of Allianz Arena, the Munich soccer stadium, to the last blog post. Erik and the boys went on a tour there. I guess if you are a soccer fan, you can't go to Munich and not visit the stadium.
Below is a picture of the Gasthof. The building is a historical landmark. Notice how the windows on the left are faux windows.
The Glockenspiel again! The carillon has 43 bells and 32 copper figures. It depicts two events: The top is a representation of the tournament held in 1568 on the occasion of the wedding of Duke William V and Renata of Lorraine, whilst the bottom shows the Schaeffler or Coopers' Dance, commemorating the end of the epidemic of plague which devastated the city from 1515 to 1517.

Inside the courtyard of New Town Hall.

The biggest pretzels EVER! And oh so good!
 Strange looking little slippers.
The next three pictures are taken inside Frauenkirche/ Church of Our Lady. A masterpiece of German Gothic art.
The mausoleum of Louis of Bavaria, in bronze and black marble.

A family friend recommended we go visit the medieval Christmas market in one of Munich's quarters:
The boys loved the armor, swords, bows and arrows, and even tried to talk us into buying a small sword. Katharine loved the falcon and  had a nice conversation with the falconer.
This lovely little dragon puppet tried to have a conversation with the kids, who were a bit too shy, also, the puppeteer kept thinking we were from Great Britain.

We headed towards Maximilian street to do some window shopping of the designer boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch and more...to make our way to Platzl square to get a traditional Bavarian dinner at the world famous Hofbraeuhaus, founded in 1589 as the duke brewery, but common mortals had to wait until the 19th century to enjoy its products. Around four million tourists sit around the tables every year.

Angels from the Erzgebirge in a store display on our way to dinner. I loved the above building and how the vines covered the facade.
Whoo-hoo! Dinner! Thank God they have large tables at the Hofbraeuhaus! We all had a blast! Food and drink was good, live music played and everyone was very, very happy.

No, Keira is not having beer, the apple juice was served in beer glasses!
I guess Erik really enjoyed his dinner!

And of course I had to take pictures of just about anything, expecially lamps, shadows etc...

Across from the Hofbraeuhaus was this beautifully painted facade that I really liked.
The Church of Our Lady at night, on the way back to the subway station, or U-Bahn.
