Steiff Museum, Giengen an der Brenz

I think Erik already made a post about this, but I have different pictures, maybe more, haha. One thing we really wanted to do was go visit the Steiff Museum. It is a nice day trip from my mother's house. The weather wasn't the greatest, but the drive was still pretty as the Autobahn takes you along the pretty country side lined with forests, castles and fortresses and rivers. I felt like a child again, too!

Loving on a life-sized Steiff bear!

The tour of the museum is very well done and very entertaining. They offer it in multiple languages. We were so lucky to get the English speaking tour just to ourselves, thanks to a very nice employee, who noticed that we spoke mostly English, she held us back, and let us enjoy the tour on our own! On the tour you get a look into the history of Steiff, Margarete Steiff and her life, and at the end you get a life demonstration of how the animals are all still made by hand! You sure appreciate the cost a lot more after that! The main part of the tour is an adventure around the world with two little Steiff characters, Knopf (Button) and Frieda.  The kids and I agreed that it was magical!

Keira and Kassidy each bought a smaller version of the unicorn at the store.

One of my favorite collector's bears on display was the Karl Lagerfeld bear.

After lunch, we attempted to go for a walk in the surrounding area, but it was just too muddy and wet, so we gave up and drove back to Oma's house instead.
